The Information Commissioner’s Office in the UK conducted an investigation into how WhatsApp and Facebook share data, they said the investigation has closed and they will not fine Facebook. The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) announced yesterday that it has closed its investigations and found that WhatsApp and Facebook do not share user data for anything other than data processing.
The investigation comes after Facebook updated its privacy policy to allow it to connect your phone number from WhatsApp to Facebook’s systems.
The announcement of the new privacy policy was met with criticism from their users as the change in the privacy policy was seen as betrayal.
