Uber launches tipping for its SA drivers.

Ever been impressed by an Uber driver and wanted to tip via the app? It's now possible.

How it works:

At the end of your trip, you will be able to choose to tip. A range of options will be provided, or you can choose a customisable amount.

Where to find it:

The tipping options will be made available immediately and you'll be able to find them below the rating and compliments section. This option is and will remain optional.

Payments or "tips" will be added to the card linked to your Uber account, and will be deducted in the same way as your trip fee. Cash-paying customers are free to tip an additional amount of their choice.

Uber said that the feature is also available when ordering via UberEATS. Note: Not all Uber drivers will receive this option, as the company requires drivers to opt-in before being able to accept tips.
