Nvidia didn't mention gamers and crypto miners at its annual GPU Technology Conference.

Nvidia Corporation is an American technology company incorporated in Delaware and based in Santa Clara, California. In its recent keynote at its annual GPU Technology Conference, it left gamers and cryptocurrency miners almost completely unmentioned.

This seems unlikely since gamers and cryptominers are some of Nvidia largest client groups, in fact Nvidia sales surged as soon as the demand for cryptomining got a boost. Also, the company’s gaming business, which generates almost 60 percent of revenue, has been supplemented by the diversion of high-end graphics chip cards into cryptocurrency mining.

Nvidia is business focused.

Jen-Hsun Huang, Nvidia founder and Chief Executive Officer, has jumped on trends that are changing computing. He hopes to find new areas for application of his high end graphics chips. Nvidia's biggest breakthrough has come as data-center operators increasingly use Nvidia products to perform the parallel work of artificial intelligence computing. Nvidia also benefits from the "flood of work" being done to develop system that will drive cars, this will provide another surge

At the conference: Nvidia showed off the new Quadro GV100 card aimed at graphics professionals, a medical imaging supercomputer called Clara. Last but not least - Nvidia of course did not forget to show off what they call the world’s largest GPU – the Nvidia DGX-2.

The DGX-2 is a $400,000 (R4 728 - roughly) “mini” GPU supercomputer. It is said to be designed for deep learning applications. It's packed with some powerful stuff, featuring 16 Tesla V100 graphics processors, each with 32GB of memory.

Despite Nvidia's big focused business plans, gamers and miners were expecting an announcement from Nvidia around next-generation graphics cards designed for cryptocurrency mining.
